I practice safe, simple, single herbalism. I wait 6-16 weeks for my herbs, fruits, nuts, beans or vegetables to properly infuse away from the sun before I use them in our products. Once they have been gathered or shipped to me, I cut them up (if necessary), place them in a large jar and cover them with the oil, glycerin, alcohol, raw honey, water or mixture of my choice. Once that process is completed, I place the jars in a dark area on a seed heating mat to sit. Doing this allows the liquid that I’ve chosen to break down the cellular membrane of the plant. This is a slow and patient process.
I don’t like using oils using cooking oils. If I do use a cooking oil as a carrier it will be Avocado or Grapeseed.
The herbs and plant allies that I harvest and use in my products are native to my area. Everything I make is made with whole plant matter. Any herbs that I don’t pick, I get from organic vendors who wildcraft and source in the U.S. That way the plant allies don’t have to be sprayed before entering the country.
Please note that I don’t use fragrances or most essential oils in my products. Most fragrances that you smell in our product is the natural scent. If you come across a product that says it has a fragrance in it that means that product was made prior to me feeling comfortable with this decision.
Some of our labels will have an ingredient that says, “Tallow.” We use tallow in some of our products from grassfed cows. Beef tallow is very rich in vitamins A, D, E, K, and B1. It also reduces inflammation and contains conjugated linoleic acid which is a natural anti-inflammatory. If you suffer from atopic dermatitis or eczema I invite you to try our products. Unlike petroleum jelly, tallow doesn’t suffocate skin. It works naturally on a cellular level with your own lipids. Due to the close similarities in the human’s natural fat, it is actually easily and rapidly absorbed.
Beeswax is another ingredient we use in our products for its anti-inflammatory properties. The wax is high in vitamin A which has been found to support cell reconstruction and health. It also encourages the ability to heal wounds, and it adds a form of protective barrier between the skin and environment without clogging your pores. The antibacterial properties in beeswax helps keep the skin clean and reduces the risk of contamination. Studies have shown that beeswax can inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungus. We buy our beeswax and honey from a local bee farmer.
I guarantee with consistent use of our products, your skin will be and look supple, healthy and glowing! You will have a very polish look! The key is consistent use.
